Designing better ways to live, age, and belong.

Homes, communities, and systems for living well across a lifespan.

THRVE brings together interior design, regenerative ageing, research, and community development to create environments that support how people live, age, and belong.

THRVE translates ageing research into homes, communities, and scalable models for living well.

How We Work

THRVE works across the home, community, and systems level.

Our services help people and organizations translate ageing, wellness, and regenerative design principles into practical environments, strategies, and next steps.

Home + Interior Design

For homeowners and families adapting their homes for changing needs, longer lives, and greater ease.

Services include interior and spatial design, ageing-in-place guidance, home continuity planning, renovation priorities, organization, and functional improvement.

Community + Development Advisory

For developers, landowners, municipalities, and organizations exploring housing, wellness, and community-development opportunities.

Services include regenerative ageing strategy, community visioning, early-stage feasibility, project positioning, partner readiness, and development advisory.

Research + Strategy

For organizations seeking to translate research into practical frameworks, programmes, policies, and environments.

Services include research briefs, evidence translation, strategic reports, Living Lab development, and ageing-related systems analysis.

Speaking + Collaboration

For conferences, roundtables, workshops, institutional conversations, and collaborative projects.

Topics include regenerative ageing, ageing in place, built-environment health, housing innovation, community as care, and the future of longer lives.

Builder + Professional Partnerships

For builders, architects, planners, consultants, and project teams seeking to integrate regenerative ageing, universal design, wellness, and resident experience into homes and communities.

The Future of Ageing Is Built, Not Managed.

How we age is shaped long before care is needed.

It is shaped by the homes we live in, the communities around us, the systems we rely on, and whether our environments continue to support connection, independence, and wellbeing as life changes.

THRVE brings these pieces together through design, research, strategy, and community development.

We believe better ageing begins with better places to live.

EverWell™

A Regenerative Ageing Community Prototype

EverWell™ is THRVE’s applied community model for living well across a lifespan.

It brings together housing, wellness, care, social connection, nature, universal design, and the built environment within one integrated community framework.

Currently under development in Niagara, Ontario, EverWell™ is being designed as a replicable model that can respond to the needs of different communities and regions.

More than a place to live, EverWell™ is envisioned as a Living Lab where research, design, programmes, and partnerships can be translated into everyday experience.

Research That Moves Into the Real World

Communities do not merely contain human life.

They help shape the conditions under which

human life flourishes.

THRVE’s Master Publication brings together research on ageing, housing, health systems, social connection, and the built environment.

The publication explores how longer lives can be better supported through the places we design, the communities we build, and the systems we connect.

This work provides the research foundation for EverWell™ and THRVE’s wider regenerative ageing practice.

Collaboration That Strengthens the Model

THRVE is collaborating with Niagara College’s Healthy Aging and Wellness Innovation Centre (HAWIC) to support the research and development of EverWell™.

The collaboration explores healthy ageing, ageing in place, built-environment wellness, social connection, research translation, and the development of EverWell™ as a Living Lab.

By connecting research with real-world application, this work helps strengthen the evidence behind the model and creates opportunities for learning, testing, and future evaluation.

Together, THRVE and HAWIC are helping bridge the space between what research tells us and how communities are actually designed and experienced.

From Homes to Communities

Andrea Leja

Founder | Regenerative Ageing Developer + Research Contributor

THRVE was founded on a simple belief: the places around us shape how we feel, function, connect, and live.

What began with interior and spatial design has grown into a wider regenerative ageing practice that brings together homes, communities, research, and systems thinking.

Founder Andrea Leja works at the intersection of housing, health, community infrastructure, and the built environment to help translate ideas into practical places and models for living well.

Through THRVE and EverWell™, she is advancing a more connected approach to ageing, one that begins with the environments people experience every day.

THRVE: Research, Dialogue + Applied Leadership

Advancing the dialogue on ageing, housing, health, and community

THRVE contributes to a growing national and global conversation about how longer lives should reshape the homes, neighbourhoods, systems, and communities we create.

Through research, writing, collaborative inquiry, professional dialogue, and applied project development, THRVE brings together ideas that are too often considered separately: regenerative ageing, housing as health infrastructure, ageing in place, social connection, community design, wellness, care, and the built environment.

This work is not limited to commentary. It is being translated into practical frameworks, publications, partnership discussions, Living Lab development, and the evolving EverWell™ community model.

Current areas of contribution

  • research and knowledge development on regenerative ageing

  • publications exploring housing, health, and community infrastructure

  • participation in professional, academic, and community conversations

  • collaborative workshops, roundtables, and project discussions

  • development of the EverWell™ Living Lab approach

  • engagement with institutions, municipalities, researchers, and professional partners

  • translation of evidence into practical design and development models

  • selected milestones in the advancement of the Niagara prototype

THRVE’s role is to help move the conversation from isolated ideas toward integrated action, connecting research, design, development, and community experience to shape better conditions for longer lives.

THRVE is currently advancing:

  • the EverWell™ Niagara prototype

  • the EverWell™ Living Lab blueprint with Niagara College HAWIC

  • the THRVE Master Publication on regenerative ageing communities

  • Housing as Health Infrastructure research and thought leadership

Who We Work With

THRVE works with people and organizations who are shaping how we live, age, and care for one another.

Our collaborators and clients include homeowners, developers, landowners, municipalities, healthcare and ageing organizations, colleges, researchers, funders, community groups, and professional teams.

Whether the work begins with a home, a site, a research question, or a larger community vision, THRVE helps bring the right ideas, people, and next steps together.

Whether you are adapting a home, exploring a development opportunity, advancing research, or building a new community model, THRVE helps turn ideas into clear, practical next steps.

We bring together design, strategy, research, and collaboration to create environments that support wellbeing, connection, and longer lives.
